What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a global day dedicated to giving back. The goal was to create an annual tradition, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, where charities, families, businesses, community centers, and individuals around the world come together to celebrate generosity and to give.  Much of the marketing and engagement is in the social media space.  Tufts has been participating in its own #GivingTuesday initiative since 2012 leading up this year's  #TuftsGivingTuesday challenge.

Why should I participate?

Your support provides crucial resources that nurture Tufts' growth and success as a world-class institution, supporting academics, research, scholarships and service to others. It takes the collective annual support of alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty and staff to make Tufts great.

What other ways can I get involved in #TuftsGivingTuesday?

Share your stories and images via social media using the hashtag #TuftsGivingTuesday. Tagboard will aggregate posts, allowing visitors to view live updates from all over the world.

Forward our #GivingTuesday emails to all your Tufts friends. Encourage them to share it and make their own gift. 

Are gifts tax-deductible?

Yes. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Donations are considered charitable contributions to the Trustees of Tufts College.

You'll receive a confirmation email immediately after you make your gift, and an official Tufts gift receipt will be sent to the email address you provide as quickly as possible. 

Who can participate?

Anyone and everyone who loves Tufts! #TuftsGivingTuesday unites alumni, friends and parents all across the world with faculty, staff and students right here on campus in an epic outpouring of Jumbo pride.
